“Gede the key to a true Balinese experience” Reviewed December 14, 2012 NEW We went to Bali from 6th to 10th December 2012. It was our first time there but it was not a problem at all thanks to Gede! We emailed him 2 weeks before our departure and he help us to plan our full itinerary. We used him for the full tenure of our stay. Gede was unassuming, honest, helpful, soft-spoken and polite. He is also great with kids, entertaining my sons' curiosity and antics with the flair and patience of a father figure. He took us to a lot of the tourist attractions and iconic Balinese sights, as much as we can cram into our days there. He also recommended good and safe places to eat and shop, and always remind us of necessary precautions to take. Gede was more than a driver and a guide, being a true Balinese he offered real insights on the Balinese way of life and very knowledgeable about Bali's historical and current affairs. We fell in love with beautiful Bali and had an awesome time there, and Gede was the key responsible for our whole experience. Thank you Gede, you are the best!

“Gede you are the best!!!” Reviewed December 13, 2012 NEW we returned 2 weeks ago from bali.before depart,i made research from internet, there are many choices for me to hire a driver in bali, get to know Gede through tripadvisor that has good reviews. We used Gede as our private driver for 4 days and sure to said that i have made the right decision. Gede is a honest,responsible, puncture and informative local bali driver, he knew bali very much. He helped my family to organised our trip and showed us some excellent restaurants.We enjoyed the food very much. Overall we would like to say thank you to Gede. Gede , you are the best!!! He was easy to contact, no hassle regards to our pick up (even when we were running an hour late) and helped us follow the surf. After much googling, we engaged Gede as our private driver for 3 days and never regretted our decision. Gede is very responsive through emails! He speaks good english, punctual, a family-oriented and safe driver with excellent knowledge of road directions as well as Balinese culture. We were exploring elephant ride! Gede recommended us to go for the elephant camp and even helped us to get the discount! To thank him, we invited him to have lunch with our family. Gede not only drove us to places of interests , he also followed us and acted as a guide when the circumstances require. We were visiting uluwatu temple where the monkeys were everywhere. Gede was kind to protect my kids by keeping the monkeys at bay! Thanks Gede! Thank you for making our bali holiday so much more enjoyable & memorable!

From day 1 we found him to be a very good, punctual and patient driver, taking us wherever we wanted to go and helping us to find the best places to visit. Even before finishing the first day out, we had decided that we were going to use Gede for the rest of our trips. We hired him for 5 or 6 days and never regretted it. His prices were also very good and there were no hidden costs. Hire him for a day or half day, you won't regret it. Visited August 2012

Helpul Guide,Patient Driver

“Helpful guide, patient driver.” Reviewed October 10, 2012 NEW We were a first timer to Bali, and I got Gede highly-recommended from a group of friends who used to hired him afew months back. Gede is kind enough to help us plan our itinerary with no-hidden-cost once i got in touch with him via email. Yet, the cost is extremely competitive! Gede was a easy-going person who can easily talk and having jokes with, he is punctual in time, yet to be earlier to wait for us in fact. Gede was a responsive guide who did remind us on "do and donts" in every single details for our safety, and also a very very very skillful driver with crazy busy traffics in Bali. He is patient enough even it was a huge jammed after all day long waiting for us to finish our activities at every sight-seeing spots. We've a day which suppose to be free & easy for our self-exploration. Some from our group has changed their mind, but Gede was still helpful even it was suppose to be his off-day. Just a single call and he is ready to fetch us out at our time with his friendly professionalism. None of our group having a single complaint except we are sad that we've forgot to take a picture with him, as we were over-enjoyed with his services. Great Private Driver in Bali

“Great Private driver in Bali” Reviewed October 3, 2012 NEW Gede was recommended by a great friend in Melbourne who uses Gede as her driver in Bali. We corresponded back and forth prior to our trip so Gede had a great insight into the sort of things we wanted to see and do while we were in Bali. Gede was extremely courteous, very punctual, very professional. Each time we got into his van, the doors were locked - we felt very safe with Gede at all times. Gede took us everywhere we asked and also made some great recommendations for us. Gede was a fabulous driver and when we return to Bali we will ensure he is again our driver. I have already persoanlly recommended Gede to others to use for their upcoming trips to Bali and am keeping his card and email contact. Thanks Gede.

Great Driver and Guide

“Great driver and guide” I got to know Gede via a friend's recommendation. We had corresponded in long emails and Gede had been very helpful and paitient in pinning down the itieneary and cost. It was Gede's brother - Soma who drove us around though. Nevertheless, Soma is a very nice and friendly guide. At times he seems like the bodyguard to us. There were some last min changes to the itineary and Soma had been very accomodating. We like the places and Spa he brought us to. He was very puntcual, in fact always a few mins earlier than the appointed time. Strongly recommeded. Visited September 2012

Freindly and Extremely helpful

“Very friendly and extremely helpful” Reviewed July 29, 2012 NEW Gede was the third driver I hired during my stay in Bali. The first one was organised through my hotel in Sanur and I doubt that he was a professional tourist driver. The second one was ok, but charging extra for tours outside the major tourist areas. A third one (a couple of days later) I had organised when he let me down a day before. So that is when I found Gede through Tripadvisor and I was lucky that he was able to drive me at such short notice. His english is very good and he has a lot of knowledge about everything you might want to know about Bali. He is always on time (actually he was early and always already waiting for me). Gede doesn't try to take you to touristy places where he gets a comission or tries to talk you out of going somewhere, on the contrary he stops wherever you want to stop and even can recommend some less touristy places. 2 days before the end of my holiday I had my handbag stolen , and with it all my money, cards, phone, camera and passport. I count myself extremely lucky that I was able to hire Gede for the following day, when I had to organise money, passport and new visa. It made everything sooo much easier having him helping me (translating, etc.), at the post office collecting money from overseas, getting passport photos made, and with the officials at the immigration office for the visa. That day would have been a lot longer and a lot more stressfull for me without Gede's help. At the end I even had some hours left to enjoy the rest of my holiday on the beach before gede dropped me off at the airport. Thanks heaps Gede!!!

Responsible Driver

“Punctual and responsible driver in Bali” Reviewed July 18, 2012 NEW via mobile We visited Bali in March 2012 and hired Gede to be our driver for 3 days trip. Gede is very responsive, responsible and puncture driver. It was our first time to Bali (especially for the first timer), really need to find such a good driver and we are lucky to have Gede :-) Although our trip to Bali is 5D4N and suppose to explore more places in Bali; however, our trip crashed with Nyepi Day and raining session. Thus, we could only had very limited places to visit. But, look on the bright side, we were having a chance to participate on the Nyepi Day celebration. Indeed it was cool & unforgettable memory in Bali. Again, thank you Gede for your great service. Appreciate It.

“Trustworthiness and Cultural Knowledge Personified” Reviewed July 14, 2012 NEW We went to Northern Bali in February and Gede was our highly regarded driver. He has local and national knowledge, which is informative, and he is able to meet the more specialized needs around art, culture and historical visits. He is intuitive to guests needs and is respectful and 100% honest. Gede has local knowledge of the whole island. He took us to the North of the island to Aditya Resort where we were able to relax. Gede is a resourceful and careful driver very well worth contacting.

“Recommend Gede as an excellent driver in Bali” Reviewed July 13, 2012 NEW We first met Gede in 2010 via a recommendation from a friend and since that trip have recommended him to all our friends travelling in Bali. They have all also experienced and appreciated his great service. We have just returned from our 2nd visit and called on Gede's services once more. He is a very interesting and intelligent driver who can offer so much information and sometimes suggestions for interesting day trips with some "off the beaten track" locations. He is extermely polite, always punctual, speaks English very well, a safe driver and trustworthy. One of the highlights of this trip was a day trip into the mountain and lake area of central Bali. On this trip to Bali we had the occasion to experience other drivers (as part of travel and accomodation packages) and non of them were even close to Gede. We then realised how lucky we were to meet him.

Great Driver

“A great driver with a deep knowledge of Balinese culture” Reviewed July 8, 2012 NEW We visited Bali in January this year and asked Gede to be our driver. It has been our best bet of all driver in Bali. Gede is an excellent, safe and friendly driver. He always on time when pick you up from the hotel. Most of the times he even came 10 mins earlier! Gede has been in this industry for almost 20 years. He has a deep knowledge of Balinese culture and it made our trip to Bali even more worthwhile. Thank you for the memorable holiday. I would recommend him to anyone planning to visit the Island of God.

Mount Batur

Trip for those who like adventure This is my first adventure to climb a mountain, I often take tourists (guests) to climb but I have never accompanied them, usually I take a nap in the car at the time the the guest is gone, but this time I wanted to have a new experience. Before I left I was really perplexed and also I felt scared. "Would I be able to make it to the top?", because until this time I had never climbed. But my fears were overcome by my wish to know 'what does it feel like at the top (summit) and what is up there'? This question chased away my fear. The three of us left Kuta at 2 AM, the feelings of fear returned to the point that I was thinking of not going along to climb. But the feeling of wanting to know was greater so the fear disappeared. We more or less covered the distance from Kuta in an hour and a half because there wasn't much traffic so that we could speed up a bit ( go fast) in order to arrive more quickly. .Finally we arrived at our destination. At the start of the climb there were two trails; the one closer to Pura Jati was for those who wanted to climb to the summit starting from a further distance but a less steep ( flatter) trail. We started our climb from the other trail on the eastern slope of the trek. The air was very cold ( tiang bingung yen 'begitu', so cold, very cold, rather cold?) and it was also very dark. After we met out guide, we started to climb. Before I proceeded onward, I thought "was there anything that we needed that was at the bottom? Food? Drink?". We started to trek in the dark of the night so our guide brought us a flashlight. I was in the first group that left. I was afraid my fears would again show up because before we had traveled 30 minutes, I was out of breath because the trail was becoming steep and rocky. My friends and I walked rather slowly. Below us I was able to see a light that was moving. The closer the light got the more it moved.....the shining light was like a butterfly, the longer the time, the closer it got. Because I was hiking rather slowly, finally that group of tourists with the light went ahead of us. The farther they went the more they were lost in the dark of the night so that all that was seen was the shine of their lights. The longer I walked, the more I was out of breath. I started to think about stopping because I was really tired, and my legs were feeling really heavy. Luckily, my guide was giving us encouragement, 'Keep going, don't give up'. Our guide kept saying we were already getting close. The color red was already starting to appear in the eastern sky, and I myself slowly walked with the remaining energy I had. The conditions were getting clearer and I began to be able to see around me. The beauty was beginning to appear, before I could only see darkness. The feeling of exhaustion started to be healed by the view that was so beautiful. The sun began to appear, ...finally I myself arrived at the summit....I was so happy..the feelings of exhaustion disappeared as I was able to see the view from the summit. It was a really really good feeling....the view was so astonishing... beautiful very beautiful. The beauty of the view was worth the exhausting efforts!
