DOLPHIN WATCHING IN LOVINA

The iconic landmark of Lovina is a dolphin. This is not a surprise, because the dolphins are the main attraction of this coastal town and many tourists depart on the early-morning boat trips to see the dolphins. Let’s dive into my dolphin watching experience in Lovina and explore the sustainability concerns surrounding this popular tourist activity.

Dolphins normally appear early in the morning just when the first rays of the sun rise on the horizon. These incredibly smart creatures will come and swim near boats and cavort around creating a truly fascinatingspectacle of nature. This anazing attraction can be viewed from traditional boats called “Jukung” that are offered by many operators or individuals on shore.

Kehen Temple

Kehen Temple is an ancient Hindu temple complex that has unique architectural features. The temple courtyard is reachable from the roadside and up 38 flights of stairs. Carved sandstone statues depicting mythical animals and Balinese folklore figures adorn the staircases and the central vestibule. The temple’s walls are also ornate with porcelain plates, harking back to the historical relationship between the local Balinese kingdom and China.

There are some particularly fine statues and paintings within the Kehen Termple complex, commencing with the highly decorated entry with carved guardian statues taken from the Hindu Ramayana classic. There are three courtyard terraces and the sacred Banyan Tree (Waringin-Ficus Benjamina) with a monks cell built up high on a platform in the branches.

Taman Ujung

Taman Ujung ‘water palace’, with its complete and official designation of Taman Sukasada Ujung, is located in the village of Seraya in Karangasem regency. It's the sister site of Tirta Gangga, also built by the late king of Karangasem. The complex consists of various large pools and historic structures set against a backdrop of Mount Agung and the eastern shoreline.

Combinations of Balinese and European architecture are evident through its ornate pillars, statues and garden and pool features. And much of its scenic appeal owes to the blend of manmade structures amid natural panoramas.

Which Bali Beach is Right For You?

Bali is blessed with a full hand of beautiful beaches, but white sand isn't as common as you might think. Thanks to the island's volcanic past, most beaches are some variation of tan or gray, but they're still lovely places to relax.

Bali hidden waterfall

Chasing waterfalls is one of the best things to do in Bali other than beach hopping. There are so many different waterfalls and natural attractions on the island that you could honestly even spend your entire trip to Bali around them without feeling bored!

The best waterfalls in Bali are hidden treasures that you can find in lush rainforests and deep mountain valleys in the island’s central highlands, most are at the end of scenic routes, usually requiring treks past rambling creeks, and you may sometimes need to cross wooden bridges and descend a series of rocky steps.

Bali is one of the world’s great tropical hideaways

Bali is one of the world’s great tropical hideaways. An adventure seeker’s paradise and a spiritual sanctuary rolled into one, it’s a destination that appeals to families and retirees as much as it does to digital nomads and young hedonists. And while there are certain destinations verging on overtouristed, when you venture outside of the usual spots you’ll find that Bali lives up to its reputation as one of the world’s most beautiful islands.
